What can go wrong with demolition — and how we prevent it
- Asbestos and other hazardous materials. Homes built before the 1990s may contain asbestos in flooring, plaster or insulation. We identify suspect materials and stop for testing before disturbing them.
- Load-bearing surprises. We assess what is structural before touching a wall, and tell you if engineering is needed.
- Hidden wiring and plumbing. Live services inside walls are a hazard. We locate and shut off before demolition.
- Dust in the rest of the house. We seal the work area and protect floors so the dust stays where it started.
